Fatima Memorial School

This is our newest project and is named after a deceased member of our family who was generous of heart and spirit. Fatima always held the welfare of children and the need to support the education of the disadvantaged as a cause close to her heart.

The Ministry of Education in Kenya has introduced a new curriculum called the CBC (Community Based Curriculum). This new approach to the education of our children focuses on learning of the skills that will be of benefit not only to the individual child but also to the wider community, the environment and the development of the country.

The CBC requires that children entering primary school complete a structured pre-primary course of two years between the ages of 3 and 6 years. These two years, PP1 and PP2 are designed to lay a firm foundation in our children’s commitment to community focussed thinking.

Fatima Memorial School is based in the Kwale District (see map). We have started a PP1 class this year (2026) with an intake of 26 needy and deserving children from the local villages to the school. As these children will progress to PP2 in January 2027, we will accept a fresh intake of a similar number of children into PP1.

The longer-term plan is to develop a primary school to which the graduates of our PP2 classes will move to continue their education.
